Gender Reveal Party

On December 4th, we had a little gender reveal party! Wes and I found out a week before and had to keep it a secret from my parents that whole time!!!  That was super hard for me since I talk to them everyday! We drove to Tampa that Friday, then Wes competed in the Tough Mudder race on Saturday, and then finally we were able to reveal the secret with everyone on Sunday afternoon.
It was so much fun having my family and close family friends over to celebrate.  First, we played an Old Wives' Tale game.  I was asked 12 questions (anything from if I was craving sweet or salty to if the hubby had gained weight...lol). I ended up with 4 on the boy side and 8 on the girl side. We went around the room and asked for everyone's guess.  It was pretty even.  My parents then cut into our reveal cake and...................

IT WAS BLUE! WE'RE HAVING A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                                    Cute reveal cake

                                                                           Fun cookies

                                                                 Old Wives' Tale Game

                                                                          It's A Boy!

                                                                      13 weeks apart!

Two more weeks and I will be half way through the pregnancy!

Newest Family Member

The hubby and I went to the Atlanta Pet Rescue where we adopted Toby (formerly Romeo) on August 13, 2010! He is a 2-year old Bichon Frise. He is the cutest thing!

Unfortunately, we had to take Toby to the Vet and they told us he has pneumonia. Poor guy! We are hoping he gets better very soon!

Makeup Guru

So, I've been thinking of changing the name of my blog since the hubby isn't really involved in it. haha I basically post about the house and do product reviews, so we shall see what I come up with.

If you haven't noticed, I love makeup! I don't go crazy wearing it, but I think I like collecting it...haha Anyway, here are some products worth mentioning.

Chanel's duo eyeliner in black & Sisley's phyto-blush in pinky rose

NYC's blushable creme sticks in Big Apple Blush & Urban Spice.
You can get these at local drugstores. They are great for a quick touch of color and you can also use them under your powder blush for all day wear.

These are the creme blush swatches. They may look dark and very pigmented, but are very sheer once blended in. I think these were like $2-3 dollars each.

These 4 products are NYX from Ulta. (www.Ulta.com) First two are eyeshadows: Aloha and Pearl White. The lipstick is in Watermelon (gorgeous color) and the lipgloss is in Smokey Look.
This line is very affordable! The lipstick was like $2-3 and the eyeshadows were probably $3 something. They have a wide range of colors. Worth looking into either at their store or online. :)
I recently had my makeup done at Mac. I wanted to try some of their products from their new collection " In the Groove". I ended up getting the brush cleaner (very important to keep your brushes clean!), 2 Mineral Skin Finishes, cremesheen lipstick, and dazzleglass lipgloss.

Mac's Mineral Skin Finishes in Soft and Gentle (I use as a higlighter on my cheekbones) and Petticoat (I use for blush or highlighter). Petticoat is such a pretty color. These pictures don't do it justice. Both products give you a really nice glow without being too shimmery. My favorite Mac product so far :)

Swatches of the MSF's. The bottom one is Petticoat, but it looks more pinky/rosey in person. It's also not that dark. The top one is Soft and Gentle. Colors look way better in person.
Mac cremesheen lipstick in On Hold and Dazzleglass lipgloss in Money, Honey

I'm not a big perfume wearer. When I do wear them, I only like fruity scents like Escada or Jo Malone. Marc Jacobs has a nice one called Daisy. It kind of smells like fresh cut grass...haha I got the one in the rollerball so it would be easy to put in my purse or to travel with.

Well, hope you liked the reviews on the products and if you like playing around with makeup go check them out. Here is the Ulta link: http://www.ulta.com/

Product Review ~Great for summer!

Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer

This tinted moisturizer is the perfect product for summer. It's a great weight, not greasy, has SPF 20, has a moisturizer, and gives you a pretty glow!

Eos (Evolution of Smooth) Lip Sphere

These come in a couple different flavors. I have the Summer Fruit (red sphere) and the Honeysuckle Honeydew (lime green sphere). They are 95% organic, 100% natural, Vitamin E, jojoba oil, and shea butter. On top of that, the packaging is so cute and a great conversation starter ;) I got mine at Rite Aid. I think they have them on Amazon, Walgreens, and CVS too.

Flowers

After a nice brunch, the hubby and I ventured over to the local nursery. I am pretty new to the whole landscaping scene, but wanted to get some flowers to replace our pansies. I asked the guy what would do really well in full sunlight. He suggested a few, so I decided on Vincas. Of course I called Mom to ask her if that was a good choice and she said it was an easy flower to take care of.
It was a lot easier to transplant them than I had originally thought. Here are some pictures of our backyard.
